SLATE is a bath ritual brand operated as a sole trader, based in Colchester, United Kingdom. References to "we", "us", or "SLATE" in these terms refer to the sole trader operating SLATE.

By placing an order on our website, you are making an offer to purchase the products you have selected. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order at our discretion.

A contract between you and us is formed when we confirm your order by email. You will receive an order confirmation to the email address you provided at checkout.

You must be 18 years of age or older to place an order. By placing an order, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

All orders are for personal use only. Resale of SLATE products without prior written permission is not permitted.

All prices are displayed in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. Delivery costs are calculated separately and shown at checkout before you confirm your order.

We reserve the right to change prices at any time. The price you pay is the price shown at the time you placed your order.

Payment is processed securely through Shopify Payments. We do not store your payment card details.

Every SLATE Grid is made to order. Your Grid will be produced fresh following your order — this typically takes 2–3 working days. You will receive an email notification when your order has been dispatched.

We ship within the UK using Evri tracked economy delivery, which aims to deliver within 2–3 working days of dispatch. Total lead time from order to delivery is approximately 4–6 working days.

We currently ship to mainland UK only. International shipping is planned for 2027.

Delivery timescales are estimates and may be affected by factors outside our control. We are not liable for delays caused by the carrier.

Every Build Your Grid order is made to your personal specification. As a bespoke, custom-made product, it is exempt from the standard 14-day right of cancellation under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which does not apply to goods made to a consumer's specifications or clearly personalised. By building and placing an order for a custom Grid, you acknowledge and accept this.

Our curated Grids (Grid Moments) are pre-built and not customised. For these, you retain the standard right to cancel within 14 days of receipt under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, provided the product is unused and in its original packaging.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect, we will arrange a replacement or refund at no additional cost to you. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order at info@byslate.co.uk, and return the item to:

Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned item. Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty or incorrect.

SLATE products are intended for use in the bath only. They are not for oral consumption, topical application outside of bath use, or any use other than as directed.

Please read the ingredient information before use. If you have known allergies or sensitive skin, review the full ingredient list on our ingredients page or contact us before ordering.

Once opened, Blocks should be used within one week. Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture.

We are not liable for any adverse reactions resulting from failure to check ingredient information prior to use. If you experience an adverse reaction, discontinue use immediately.

All content on this website — including text, images, design, the SLATE name, logo, and grid system concept — is the intellectual property of SLATE and may not be reproduced, copied, or used without prior written permission.

The Grid system, block format, and product architecture are original works owned by SLATE.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SLATE's liability for any claim arising from the use of our products or website is limited to the value of the order in question.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use of our products or website.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

Your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law are not affected by these terms.

We collect and process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR. Your data is used to process orders, communicate with you about your purchase, and — where you have consented — send marketing communications.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date of last update shown at the top. Continued use of our website or placing a new order after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
