The frustrationSLATE started with a simple frustration. Every bath product gives you one scent, one effect, one decision already made — whether or not that's what you actually need that night.

The ideaThe idea was to build something modular. A system you could compose yourself — scent for where you are, texture for what your skin needs. A grid you set the intention for, not a product that sets it for you.

The formulasThe formulas were developed through testing, not shortcuts. Eighteen-hour days figuring out binding, scent ratios, texture, and what actually works in a bath versus what just looks good in a product description.

The batchesNobody handed us a formula. We tested every single one of them. Small batches, made in the UK, until we got it right.

Built by someone who genuinely loves a bath.
SLATE was founded by one person. No investors, no outsourced formulas, no shortcuts. The whole system — from the first formula test to the packaging — was built alone, by hand.
The bathroom was always my place. Lock the door, no one needs anything from you. Silence. Stillness. Nowhere to be. I love a bath. Properly love it. And I couldn't find a single product that felt like it was built for someone who actually takes them seriously.
So I built it myself.
Thirty blocks for now. There will be more. I keep finding things out in the world that belong in a bath. As long as I'm here, the system keeps growing.
