Why we built SLATE

Most bath products make the decision for you: one scent, one effect, one mood, whether or not it suits tonight. We thought you should get to decide, so we built a system instead.

It started in a bathroom, not a lab

Why does every bath product only give me one thing?

The answer was something modular: a system you compose yourself, with a scent for the mood and a texture for your skin. A Grid^™ you set the intention for, rather than a product that sets it for you.

The formulas came from testing, not shortcuts. Binding, scent ratios, texture, and what actually works in the water, not what reads well in a product description.

Nobody handed us a formula. We tested every one, in small batches in the UK, until it was right. Every recipe is independently safety assessed.

Built by someone who loves a bath

SLATE was founded by one person. No investors, no outsourced formulas. The whole system, from the first formula test to the packaging, was built alone.

The bathroom was always my place. Lock the door and no one needs anything from you. Silence, stillness, nowhere to be.

I love a bath, properly love it, and I couldn't find a single product that felt built for someone who takes them seriously.

So I built it myself.

Thirty blocks for now. There will be more. I keep finding things that belong in a bath, and as long as I'm here, the system keeps growing.
