SLATE is a bath ritual system. A Grid^™ is 27 pressed blocks, arranged 3×3×3 and made to go into the bath whole. Each block weighs 22 g, so a full Grid^™ is 594 g.

One size for now: the Grid^™, 3×3×3 with 27 blocks. A Small Grid^™, 2×2×2 with 8 blocks, is coming soon.

Run a warm bath, not a hot one, and place the whole Grid^™ in the water. Let it dissolve, then stay for 15 to 20 minutes.

Yes. In the Grid^™ builder you choose from thirty blocks, twenty scent and ten texture, and fill all 27 positions block by block. Or start from one of our ready-made Grids^™.

Each Grid^™ is made to go into the bath whole. If you do split it, keep the rest wrapped and dry, and use it within a week.

Keep it in its wrap, somewhere dry and away from steam, until bath time. Once the wrap is open, use the blocks within a week, as moisture in the air can start them reacting early.

Every block is made from carefully chosen, cosmetic-grade ingredients. Each one contains 10% Epsom salt and sweet almond oil, then its own scent or texture. The full base formula is on The System page.

No. Every block contains sweet almond oil (tree nut). Not suitable for anyone with a nut allergy.

Yes, MILK. It is made with goat milk powder, so it contains dairy and is not vegan. If you avoid dairy, leave MILK out when you build your Grid^™.

SALT is Epsom salt on its own, with no scent or colour added. Like every block, it also contains sweet almond oil.

Most of our scents are made with essential oils and absolutes, such as lavender, vetiver and neroli. Contains essential oils. See each block's ingredient list for allergens: email info@byslate.co.uk and we will send it.

PEARL, SHIMMER and GLITTER use cosmetic-grade mica, a mineral, in white, gold and silver. There is no plastic glitter in any block.

SLATE blocks are cosmetics for external use only. If you have a skin condition, are pregnant, or have any concerns, check with your doctor before use. Patch-test any new product, and keep out of reach of children.

No, never. Every recipe has a Cosmetic Product Safety Report from an independent safety assessor, and every block is made in small batches in the UK.

Yes. A Grid^™ arrives in two paper parts: a moulded paper-pulp box and a glassine wrap. There is no film, band or printed insert, and both parts go in your paper recycling.
